Welcome to my research portfolio! I am a dedicated student at the University of Florida, majoring in Microbiology. Currently, I am involved in exciting bioinformatics research, where I explore the the conservation of inflammaging markers through evolution.
Introduction
About Me
My name is Brad Akus. I am a third year Microbiology and Cell Science major, minoring in Pathogenesis with a certificate in Medical Geography. I am a teaching assistant for Antimicrobial Resistance, and I have a deep passion for pathogens as a whole with a special interest in pathogenicity.
I am recently undertaking research through the Cancer and Genetics Research Institute about Systematic Analysis of Inflammaging Markers. I am currently studying bioinformatics to have a better grasp of the knowledge required to conduct this research and provide meaningful data. I have worked in a research lab before, however, this is the first time I will be contributing directly to the research. Additionally, I am a pre-med student, hopefully attending a medical school in the coming years.
